We’re super-excited that the 2025-2026 series at the Crawlspace Theatre here in downtown Kalamazoo is underway! My good friend, Keith Hall, and I partnered with Dann Sytsma to create a monthly series of concerts in a listening room here in town. We are so grateful to the John Stites Jazz Awards for funding our series again, and we’ll be bringing in a list of amazing international talent.
The idea behind this series is to create an intimate space where audiences can connect with the music in a real, personal way. Crawlspace Theatre has quickly become one of our favorite spots for this — cozy, welcoming, and perfectly suited to experiencing jazz up close.
This season, we’ll be featuring jazz artists from around the world – Jimmy Greene, Rufus Reid, Bobby Watson, Chico Pinheiro, Libby York, and more – alongside some of our own incredible local talent. Each concert is a chance to hear something fresh, unexpected, and deeply inspiring. We can’t wait to share the music with you, and hope you’ll come be part of the energy at Crawlspace.
