My new solo piano album is here. It’s a collection of 9 original compositions that I created in a collaborative project with my sister, visual artist, Loryn Spangler-Jones.
Visit my music page for audio samples, images of the paintings Loryn created, a description of the process behind the recording, and links to where you can buy the music!

My sister, Loryn Spangler-Jones (visual artist) and I have been collaborating on a new work of art and music. It’s been an exciting process of blurring the lines between visual and aural – where art is created to inspire musical composition and music is composed to inspire a visual image.
Join us for Parallel States – an exhibition showcasing the art that was created combined with a live performance of the music.
Here’s a sample of the work we’re creating. This is an example of a solo piano piece I created inspired by Loryn’s art.
Her piece “Time to Make the Doughnuts” (shown on the left) inspired my composition, “The Sweet Life.”
(Sorry, I just couldn’t bring myself to title my piece “Time to Make the Doughnuts”)

John Ephland at Downbeat gave TRI-FI’s new album Staring into the Sun a very nice 4-star review in the April 2014 issue!
“Tri-Fi’s newest collection of originals is the best example yet of their intimate group interplay… Call it a relaxed yet fervent approach to express joy, wonder, surprise. The kind of qualities jazz lovers look for anytime they’re hungry for connection”
